Local Ministries

Grace Baptist is supports financially and/or with volunteers the following ministries in our community:

Riverview Baptist Church

Riverview Baptist Church is located in Oildale off of Beardsley St. and has been faithfully serving their community for many years.  Riverview is now located in a poverty stricken area and has struggled financially to just keep its doors open.  Yet, Pastor John Pace and its members are still faithful in reaching people in this much need community with the hope of CHrist.  Grace offers monthly support to Riverview Baptist and also helps it have a Vacation Bible School in the summer.  Volunteers also help with its fall outreach "The Run for Jesus" which reaches hundereds of bikers each year.

Lifesavers Ministry

Lifesavers Ministry seeks to promote the value of life in our community and help pregnant women seek alternatives to aborting their children in our community.  Grace Baptist financially supports this ministry as it defends the precious innocent life God has created.

Prision Fellowship

Each Christmas, Grace members purchase gifts for the Angel Tree ministry of Prison Fellowship.  This ministry reaches children who have a parent in prison.  On the Sunday before Christmas, we invite these families to a Christmas party in their honor and share with them the hope of the Christmas season.  The families are then given their gifts which they take home to open on Christmas Day.

Bakersfield Rescue Mission

The Bakersfield Rescue Mission serves the community by helping to take care of the homeless with shelter, food, spiritual guidance, and career development.  A faithful group of women make quilts for the shelter to express God's love to them and one of our pastors serves on their board.  We are so thankful for the ministry the Rescue Mission does for the needy in Bakersfield.

Kern Leadership Alliance

KLA was birthed from the Franklin Graham festival held in Bakersfield a few years ago.  This group is seeking to network key Christian leaders together to work on major problems facing our community, such as gang violence.  The hope is to link the Christian community together and as the kingdom of God express His love to our county.  One of our pastors also serves on the board of KLA and it is exciting to think of the potential of what will take place as God's people work together to serve the needs of our community.

Kern County Sheriff's Chaplaincy

One of our pastors serves as a Sheriff's chaplain to the men and women who so faithfully seek to protect our community.  We are so proud of those in uniform who serve and risk their lives for us and are thankful for the opportunity to work with them to promote the welfare of our county.

Glenwood Garden Community Center

Grace Baptist teaches a weekly Bible study for Glenwood Gardens independent, assisted living, and skilled nursing residents.  Also, once a month we lead a worship service for those who cannot attend a local church.  The residents of Glenwood Gardens are such special people and it is blessing to serve them.
